EDITORIAL Dear friends, let us inspire you to follow us into the world of GRIMM'S Greenopia. GRIMM'S Greenopia is our vision of a life in harmony with nature. We invite everyone to feel connected to nature and would like to encourage you to play in nature. We want you to take your toys outside into nature or to bring treasures from nature back into your home and integrate them into your play, to celebrate special occasions, to create seasonal table displays and to experience this with all your senses. To our great delight, we have observed increasing interest in natural wooden toys in recent years. We are driven by the desire to promote and inspire free play and its importance to a child's healthy development. That is why we have been designing simple, beautiful and contemporary wooden toys for over 44 years. All our products don‘t tell the child how to play, but instead invite children to be creative themselves and to play with them in different ways over and over again. The toys grow with the child and offer different play possibilities, depending on the child’s age. In this way, they enable free, intuitive and spontaneous play. This kind of play does not have a specifi c goal, but instead provides incredibly valuable lessons for life: The child discovers its abilities and potential, learning that they are an individual co-creator and a valuable part of their environment. If we can contribute even a small part to this, we will have achieved everything we could wish for as a company. We are pleased that you are following this path with us. To stimulate a child's imagination, you don't need tons of toys, but rather a few selected, timeless and multifunctional pieces, and most importantly: Time to play! | 5
GRIMM‘S products stand for high quality, safety and sustainability All of our products including the color and oil meet the European standard for safety of toys (EN71) and the US standards. This is regularly tested. All of our products are hand-made. We are certifi ed according to the FSC™ standard (License Code: FSC-C125886): We use alder, lime, beech and maple wood, the wood is only from sustainable forestry sources in Europe. Made by Nature: Because wood is a natural material it always has various markings that show up in our products, making each one unique. These unique variations are proof of quality, not defects. We only varnish our wood with color and oil. We use non-toxic water based color stain or a non-toxic plant based oil fi nish. All colors and oils we use are certifi ed in accordance with the EN 71 and CPSIA/ ASTM 963 standards. If you clean our products wipe gently using a damp cloth only. When drying, please do not put on a heater, as this may cause cracks in the wood – simply let dry at room temperature. Please do not submerge in water and do not use disinfectant or hot water. If wood breaks, it can be glued. Often no replacement part will fi t because our products are made by hand. We have prepared a small fi rst-aid kit which is available upon request to retail partners. What a joy when the toy is ready for play again! All of our fabrics are Oeko-Tex certifi ed. For us, it is important to achieve minimal packaging because we do not want to contribute to worldwide packaging waste any more than absolutely necessary to ensure safe transport. This symbol denotes the product is made in cooperation with sheltered workshops. Many of our products are recommended by “spiel gut” (good toy guide) an independent certifi cation for educationally valuable toys in Germany. S Y O G T Rattles and graspers are tactile and come in timeless designs. They are the most elementary toys for a babies’ fine senses. At the very beginning, when babies start to reach for things, they hold their rattle with a strong grasping reflex and start to explore objects with their mouth and tongue. Graspers Our Natural Beads Grasper is made of three types of wood. Little explorers will have senso- ry experiences with light and dark, hard and soft, heavy and light, structured and smooth wood. The colors of our beads are from non-toxic, water based stains which are absolutely harmless and tested in-depth for color fastness to saliva. Did you know? Natural unpaint- ed wood has an open, rough surface that binds moisture. On a big trip Our small wooden train runs on all standard wooden tracks as well as on smooth flooring. With this train, our rainbow friends can go on a long journey or transport ever-changing freight from here to there. We have made our little wooden train as a construction game, so it can sometimes race over the rails as a modern high speed train or be a more nostalgic-looking locomotive.
